VoicePing is proud to announce that our Push-to-Talk (PTT) app now supports 5G Network Slicing, unlocking the next level of reliability and priority access for enterprise and mission-critical communications.
What is 5G Network Slicing?
5G Network Slicing enables operators to divide a single physical 5G network into multiple virtual “slices”, each dedicated to a specific use case — such as ultra-low latency or high bandwidth.

This means enterprises can have a guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS), with network performance tailored to the exact needs of their application.
For VoicePing users, this translates into two main configurations:
Low-Latency Slice: Prioritizes instant PTT responsiveness for real-time voice and command.
High-Bandwidth Slice: Optimized for use cases like VoicePing Video Calls

Tested on Samsung XCover 7 Pro with 5G Network Slice
VoicePing’s slicing-enabled version has been successfully tested on the Samsung XCover 7 Pro, one of the few rugged enterprise smartphones supporting 5G slicing capabilities. In our field tests, VoicePing maintained stable push-to-talk latency under heavy network load and places with congestion— proving the power of slicing in ensuring communication reliability for field operations, logistics, and safety teams.
🔧 USRP Requirement for Network Slice Activation
To use 5G Network Slicing, devices must support a User-Specific Registered Profile (USRP). The USRP identifies the enterprise slice configuration within the operator’s network — ensuring that VoicePing traffic is correctly routed to the allocated slice.
Currently, not all 5G devices include USRP support, as this capability depends on Device Chipset, Device firmware and vendor implementation. The SIM can also needs to have Carrier network support for provisioning slice profiles on SIM or eSIM.
In our validation, the Samsung XCover 7 Pro demonstrated full USRP registration and proper slice selection when paired with a 5G slicing SIM from Singtel Enterprise.
Android 15: Expanding Network Slicing Support
Android 15 is supports USRP and slicing APIs, making it easier for enterprise apps like VoicePing to automatically select and optimize slices per user or per session.
This includes:
Improved dynamic slice selection via the Android ConnectivityManager API
Enhanced slice policy enforcement for app-specific QoS
Broader OEM support beyond flagship and enterprise models
As these capabilities roll out, VoicePing will continue to optimize its slicing integration for lower latency, faster reconnects, and prioritized real-time communication across supported networks.
Requirements
To use this feature, you’ll need:
A 5G-enabled device with USRP support (such as Samsung XCover 7 Pro)
A 5G Network Slicing-capable SIM or eSIM from your operator with the capability provisioned for your SIM
