That's why we've introduced two updated VoicePing USB-C PTT earpieces: C-Shape and G-Hook, both featuring a redesigned Push-to-Talk button and reinforced USB-C connector.
And these improvements weren't made just for the sake of releasing something new. They came directly from real-world customer feedback.
With its USB-C connector and true Push-To-Talk (PTT) button, the earpiece works seamlessly with popular walkie-talkie apps like Zello, VoicePing, and Microsoft Teams, giving professionals a fast, reliable way to communicate on the go.
It also supports PTT across additional team communication apps such as Beartooth, ESChat, Tassta, Unity Intercom, Orion, Zebra, and TeamConnect (compatibility varies by Android/iOS, as shown in the chart).
Why We Redesigned Our PTT Earpieces
Our USB-C PTT earpieces have been used by teams across retail, logistics, hospitality and other industries for everyday communication.
One of our retail customers, Kmart Australia, shared valuable feedback after using our earlier earpieces in their stores with Zebra handheld devices.
While the team found the earpieces worked well for communication, repeated daily use highlighted a couple of areas that could be improved:
The original rubber PTT button component could loosen after frequent use.
The USB-C connection was vulnerable to damage during daily handling.
A fixed earpiece design could be a more practical alternative for teams already using the same wearing style.
We took that feedback and worked on improving the design.
The result? Two updated USB-C PTT earpieces built around the needs of people who actually use them at work.
What's New?
1. Redesigned Push-to-Talk Button
The PTT button is probably the most frequently used part of an earpiece.
Our previous design featured a rubber button component that could eventually loosen after repeated presses.
The new models use a more traditional PTT button design, removing that troublesome rubber component.
It's a small design change that addresses a real issue encountered during everyday workplace use.
2. Reinforced L-Shaped USB-C Connector
A damaged connector can put an otherwise functioning earpiece out of action.
Both updated models feature a strengthened L-shaped USB-C connection, designed to improve durability at this common wear point.
The right-angle connector also offers a practical connection layout for handheld devices used throughout the workday.
3. Fixed Earpiece Designs
Our VoicePing Flex model offers interchangeable listening earpieces, allowing users to switch between different styles.
For teams that already know which wearing style they prefer, a fixed design is another practical option.
The updated models come in two styles:
C-Shape: A curved over-ear design for users who prefer the C-shaped fit.
G-Hook: A hook-style over-ear design for those who prefer a different shape and listening position.
Both include a built-in microphone, inline PTT button, clothing clip and wired USB-C connection.
C-Shape vs. G-Hook: Which Should You Choose?
Both models offer the same reinforced connector and redesigned Push-to-Talk button. The main difference is how they sit around your ear.
VoicePing C-Shape USB-C PTT Earpiece
The C-Shape features a curved over-ear design. It's a straightforward choice for retail associates, warehouse employees and other frontline workers who prefer this wearing style.
VoicePing G-Hook USB-C PTT Earpiece
The G-Hook uses a different over-ear hook design. It offers an alternative fit for users who find the G-hook shape more comfortable or secure.
There's no universal winner here. The best option depends on the person wearing it, their preferences and their working environment.
Tested in Real Retail Operations
The redesigned C-Shape earpiece was developed following feedback from Kmart Australia, where staff were using USB-C PTT earpieces with Zebra handheld devices.
After receiving the updated samples, Kmart reported positive feedback from the team and enquired about purchasing additional units.
That feedback helped confirm that the revised design was worth taking forward.
It's also a useful reminder that product improvements don't always need to be complicated. Sometimes, addressing a couple of everyday frustrations can make a meaningful difference.
Compatible with Push-to-Talk Applications
VoicePing USB-C PTT earpieces are designed for use with compatible Android and iOS smartphones and handheld devices running Push-to-Talk applications.
Depending on the device and application, supported platforms successfully tested include VoicePing, Zello, TASSTA, Grid, Synch, and Microsoft Teams Walkie Talkie.
Important: USB-C audio compatibility doesn't always guarantee that the physical PTT button will work with every app. We recommend checking compatibility with your specific device and application before purchasing larger quantities.
