Know Where Your Team Is. Take Action When It Matters.
When your team is always on the move, every second counts. VoicePing’s new Geofence feature sends instant alerts as soon as workers enter or leave key zones—warehouses, client sites, or high-security areas. Automate location-based notifications to respond faster, boost compliance, and cut manual check-ins.
What is Geofencing in VoicePing?
A geofence is a virtual boundary you define on a map. Once your team crosses that line, VoicePing sends an automatic alert to relevant team members or channels.
It's perfect for scenarios like:
Notifying dispatch when a truck leaves a warehouse
Alerting managers when staff arrive at or leave job sites
Triggering a task list when maintenance enters a factory zone
Why It Matters to Your Business
Increase Productivity: Eliminate manual check-ins. Know when tasks start and end.
Enhance Safety & Accountability: Track team presence in real time.
Improve Response Time: Trigger alerts and workflows automatically.
Reduce Errors: Let automation handle location updates.
How It Works
Draw a Zone: Use the VoicePing dashboard to draw a circular or custom-shaped geofence on the map.
Track the Device: The mobile device or GPS-enabled object is monitored.
Choose Trigger Direction: Get notified when entering, exiting, or both.
VoicePing will instantly send alerts to selected users, groups, or integrations.

How to Set Up a Geofence
Login to your webptt and click map icon > Settings > Geofences
Choose “Create” and you will see a new pop up to set a geofence.
Set your geofence details as such;
Geofence Name : Area name as you preferred
Geofence Type : Circular or Geojson (used for more specific or complex area, more explanation below)
Choose your preferred location and radius
Assigned users : Users that will receive notification or alert when someone exit or enter the set area
Assigned channels : Channel will receive notification or alert when someone exit or enter the set area.
Geojson Geofence
Go to https://geojson.io/
Zoom to the area you want, and draw the area using the Polygon or Rectangular tools on the right white box, for example check the area in yellow stripes inside the red circle.
Multiple locations also doable through Geojson feature

After you set your geofence, on the left upper corner click “Save” > “Geojson” and your location will be downloaded.

Then, go back to the webptt page and upload the Geojson map file

Once uploaded, it will look like the picture below and can continue with the area name and assigned users and channels.

Even though Geojson can create multiple locations, it cannot be renamed per each and notification alert will notify for all locations which are set into the Geojson Geofence.
If a company would like to create different names for each area set, the company can create many Circular geofences instead of using Geojson features.
